Bloomfield House Hotel

After a restorative nap we explored our lovely hotel and grounds in Mullingar, County Westmeath. The hotel building was formerly a hospital in 1917 and then a convent in the 1930s. Very windy and chilly along the lake walk. We thought the group of kids belonged to a wedding party, but this sent them into fits of giggles. They were actually celebrating the confirmation of one of the boys. Gotta love a Catholic country! Beautiful flora and fauna. Our brisk walk was followed by a lovely cup of tea and apple pie (me) and a coke and Irish potatoes (mom). Just hit the spot.

  1. Awesome pictures. You and your Mom look MARVELOUS Peggy. I would have wanted the potatoes AND the pie, but what else is new?
